School Council

At Pelham Centre Public School, we believe that parents are important and make a real difference to children's learning. When parents are involved children do better and achieve more. School Council allows everyone involved in school life - parents, learners, teachers, school staff and the wider community to work together to support the school. It also allows all parents to have a say in their children's education by affording the opportunity to express their views and ideas.

The School Council fulfils a vital role in the life of Pelham Centre School. The role of the Council is to:

• provide input regarding the Code of Conduct, the Dress Code, fund-raising policies, school action plans based on EQAO reports, selection criteria for the principal, etc.;
• provide feedback regarding implementation of policies;
• make recommendations to the principal.

The School Council meets monthly in the evening in the school library. All members of the Pelham Centre learning community are invited and encouraged to become involved in the Council in a productive, positive way.
